In the process of equipment inspection, the inspection personnel strictly follow the safety regulations, use a high degree of responsibility and the inspection method of "look, smell, ask, and cut", so as to discover and eliminate hidden dangers in time.

If you want, you must be diligent. When inspecting the equipment, the inspectors should look at the six paths and make full use of their own eyes to find the running, running, dripping and leaking from the appearance of the equipment, and through the changes in the position and color of the equipment and even the parts and components, to find out whether the equipment is in normal status. Prevent signs of an accident from slipping away right under your nose.

Smell, to do the ears, nose diligent. Inspectors should listen to all directions, make full use of their nose and ears, and find out whether the smell of the equipment changes and whether the sound is abnormal, so as to find the equipment in the abnormal state and carry out targeted treatment.

Ask, to be diligent. Inspectors need to ask more questions. One is to ask themselves a few whys. Asking is also a process of using the brain. If you don’t use your brain, you will turn a blind eye. The second is to ask clearly about the work of the previous shift and the unfinished work in the process of handover, to have a detailed understanding of the work, and to be aware of it. in the interval between shifts.

Cut, to be diligent. As long as the inspection personnel can touch the equipment with their hands or through special inspection tools, they should use their hands or special tools to feel the temperature changes and vibrations in the operation of the equipment; before operating the equipment, they should simulate the operation actions and procedures with their bare hands. . Do not touch and touch with your hands frequently, which may cause misoperation.

Bearing inspection is mainly carried out through the following three methods: "listening", "touching" and "observing"

1. Listen

The use of hearing to identify irregular movements is a very common method. For example, using an electronic stethoscope and a mechanical stylus to detect the abnormal noise of a certain part is often used by experienced workers. Bearings that emit a low whine if they are in good operating condition, sharp hissing, squeaking, and other irregular sounds usually indicate poor operating conditions.

2. touch

High temperatures often indicate that the bearing is in an abnormal state. High temperatures are also detrimental to the lubricant in the bearing. Sometimes the overheating of the bearing can be attributed to the lubricant of the bearing. If the bearing runs at a high temperature for a long time, the life of the bearing will be reduced. The reasons for the high temperature of the bearing are: insufficient or excessive lubrication, impurities in the lubricant, excessive load, etc. Bearing damage, insufficient clearance and high friction from oil seals, etc.

3. Observation

If the bearing is well lubricated and can ensure the correct blocking of debris and moisture, that is to say, the oil seal is intact and free of wear. Ideally, the bearing housing should be opened periodically to visually inspect the bearing and check the integrity of the oil seal. Check whether the lubricant is discolored or blackened. If this is the case, it usually means that the lubricant has deteriorated or contains impurities and should be replaced immediately.
